Alan Lambert
Director Pushtar (2015), Remat (2023)
06 / 06 / 2026 My working relationship with Mark Ellison is one of the longest running professional collaborations of my career to date. Since 2012 Mark has always contributed to the sound production on my films, running the gamut of sound work, from overall sound mastering to detailed dialogue work and sound design. In my 2015 film ‘Pushtar’ Mark had the challenging task of defining the spaces with the audio alone, as much of the film was set in abstract dream spaces. His work won the ‘Best Sound’ Award at the ‘Earth Day Film Festival in San Francisco’ in 2016. http://www.pushtar.com/
In my most recent film 'Remat' ( 2023 ), Mark was given a silent film to sound design and succeeded in creating an audio environment that enhanced the narrative without the aid of dialogue and with minimal music. Remat received various accolades in 2024, including the ‘Best Experimental Film’ in the ‘World Class Film Awards’ in Mexico in 2024. https://www.instagram.com/p/DCUZSb-uDBa/
Each time I work with Mark the genres are different and the form in which I bring him the audio varies. Yet I have always found that he maintains a balance that is professional but creative - a quality that can be all too rare in audio-visual media.
I heartily recommend him for any position in audio and music work that he would pursue. Alan Lambert

I worked closely with Mark on my album, where he contributed as a producer, guitarist and creative advisor. His musical ability is exceptional but what really sets Mark apart is his instinct for projects: he understands not just how things should sound but how they should feel.
Mark was involved at every stage of the process, from shaping ideas at an early stage to refining performances and arrangements. He has an ability to take something rough or uncertain and develop it into something confident and fully realised. His guitar work is expressive, tasteful, and always serves the song, and his production input consistently elevated the material.
Beyond his technical skill, Mark is generous with his time, thoughtful in his feedback, and deeply committed to helping a project reach its potential. I would happily work with him again and would strongly recommend him as both a musician and a producer to anyone creating an album or developing a music project. He has a rare ability to take a project from zero to something genuinely special.

I keep listening to the songs and I think they’re amazing. I can’t begin to thank you for all the mentorship and support you’ve given me. I hope it remains that way for many years to come…
