Since early 2025, I have been supporting singer-songwriter LK to develop her work before bringing it to market. Involving rehearsal, co-writing, pre-production and recording, the collaboration continues to develop towards a release of material in the near future. Currently, we are recording at Windmill Lane Studios, Dublin.
A test pressing of Peter J McCarthy’s album (release due September 2026) arrived today for my analysis and feedback. Recorded at Audioland Studios and mastered at Abbey Road (London), I play guitar on several tracks and contributed to production and overall musical direction.
Sound Design
A collaboration with award-winning director, Alan Lambert, Remat (2023) won ‘Best Experimental Film’ at the World Class Film Awards, Mexico 2024. For this project, I was given a silent film to sound design and create an audio environment that enhanced the narrative without the aid of dialogue. (I am recording dialogue for his current project, Iron Mountain.)
So, 2018 has come in with a bang and things are rolling. Firstly, my three piece band, The Sumtones will begin a series of gigs - "Sumtones Sessions", at Dublin's East Side Tavern on February 13th at 10pm. I am excited at the prospect of getting back out there and playing some rock and roll!!! Next, it looks like I will accompany the wondrous Kevin Nolan on a short concert tour in the US of A at the end of March: very excited about that one too!!! In between, I go to London to embark on a Teaching Musician MA at Trinity/LABAN: it's shaping up to be a good year!

In Alan Lambert’s 2015 film ‘Pushtar’, I had the challenging task of defining the spaces with audio alone, as much of the film was set in abstract dream spaces. My work won the ‘Best Sound’ Award at the ‘Earth Day Film Festival in San Francisco’ in 2016
