Socially Engaged Practice
A key aspect of my socially engaged practice is songwriting which I have been teaching with support from CDETB since 2018. Participants are adults of mixed musical ability and experience who share a love of song and wish to hone their craft. I provide musical support and co-write where appropriate. Audio recording is used to develop ideas and increase musical awareness.
Join me at The Circular Bar, Rialto, D8 where, as part of RCAF ‘26, I will host an evening of original music by local talent including Lynda Lucas, Sylvie Benson, Lara Kuhnis, and Sumtones. Show starts at 7:30
Sound Design

TEDx and Music Generation
2018 saw me join Music Generation as an instrumental music teacher. Recently, Music Generation DLR invited submissions from its teachers to the organisers of TEDx Dun Laoghaire for their Virtual Summit 2020, aired online last week. A piece of music I wrote was chosen: called, ‘No Circle, No trap’ you can hear it as used at the Summit in the video above and in full here - thanks TEDx and Music Generation for this great opportunity!!!
FGU
Over the past decade, my work has often been with Fatima Groups United (FGU), a Family Resource Centre, responsible for the management and delivery of community based services & programmes in the Dublin 8 area.
I work with participants of all ages, facilitating various, participative music spaces which promote inclusivity and wellbeing for all.
Bluebell Youth Project Restricted Mic 2020
In response to Covid 19, CDYSB and Garageland in association with RTE 2XM, put together an online music event, ‘Restricted Mic’. It features musical performances recorded by young people from all over Dublin, including some from Bluebell Youth Project that I worked with. You can watch both shows here:
